Projects

A select portfolio of projects carried out by AP Solutions NW.

Featured Project

Mosscare St. Vincent's

Mosscare St. Vincent’s went to tender through Procure Plus for the design, supply, installation and commissioning of full new landlord L1 systems throughout the scheme.

Alexander Briant Court, Khubsuret House and Cheshire Gardens were all part of the 92-flat Fire Risk and Mitigation Works and Services tender, won by APS NW due to a proven track record.

APS NW designed, supplied and commissioned full landlord L1 systems throughout the locations, including Part 6 LD1 mains detection to the flats.

The LD1 system is linked to the Warden Call System for early detection and warning to the staff at each of the sites.

Our work with Mosscare St. Vincent’s came from previous high quality works with St. Vincent’s before they merged with Mosscare. Being on Procure Plus’ framework for Fire Risk and Mitigation Works and Services led to us securing the tender for jobs on multiple sites, continuing our longstanding relationship with Mosscare St. Vincent’s.

Featured Project

Sandburn Hall

Sandburn Hall is set amongst 1000 acres of lakes and woodland, on the outskirts of York.

APS NW were instructed for client NEC services on a 40-bedroom hotel extension to the existing golf club and wedding venue.

A full L1 fire alarm system was designed, integrated and networked with the existing system in the golf club.  An advanced 8 loop panel was installed with Apollo xp95 field devices.

Full DDA/disabled access rooms were installed including vibrating pillow pads along with visual alarm devices (VADS) in each room. Disabled refuge was also installed.

We identified the building's wooden construction, and requirement for the venue to remain open during the project as potential challenges. Working with Sandburn Hall's management, we developed a plan to allow all operations to function as normal.

Charlotte House, Manchester

A 5-story, listed building, in Chinatown, Manchester was undergoing redevelopment in to 12 luxury, city centre apartments.

An advanced 2 loop panel installed with Apollo xp95 field devices were installed, with an L1 system being installed throughout the building.

Intricate installation techniques were required due to the building’s listed status, and preservation of the buildings existing features were of upmost important.

Cherwell Hub

A £1.8million, 17-home housing scheme in Rochdale, to enable people with learning disabilities to have their own home in a more traditional manner than the majority of other supported living environments.
APS NW worked with Rochdale Borough Council and social enterprise PossAbilities’. A job specification had been created four years prior to original contact, and had to be worked to as closely as possible; however, due to advancements in the industry, a modified plan was drawn up.
A Due to Stay Put policy and 24-hour staff all sounders were removed from the system at the clients’ request and a Scope Pager system included to alert staff of potential fires.
An L3 system was installed in all communal areas of the building and an LD1 system installed in flats with the fire alarm interface linking these to the main landlord’s system for immediate alert of staff.
A door system was also requested and a fully networked Paxton Net2 door system installed with Videx video intercom system at the main entrance, providing the residents safety and peace of mind whilst in their new homes.

BAE Systems

Robertson Construction contacted APS NW to perform works on BAE’s site at Brough Aerodome. The works included the removal of redundant cable, and the “making good” of the site, and due to logistics and chemicals being housed on site, a specialised plan had to be created.

APS NW worked alongside Enviro Chill Ltd. who are specialists in air con systems who aided in the “making good” of the site.

Rochdale Borough Housing

APS NW are currently surveying various schemes with Solar Thermal Systems for Rochdale Borough Housing.

APS NW’s specialist Solar Thermal Systems team are undertaking these works. Surveys are currently underway and any remedial works will be completed.

Once completed, a full 12 monthly maintenance and service package will be provided.

Liberty Living

Liberty Living contacted APS NW for a full electrical and fire systems rewire for a 550+ apartment complex in China Town, Liverpool.

The project included a requirement to install a new electrical supply from the mains grid. An upgrade for all apartments before a full refurbishment throughout the accommodation. Full fire alarm systems, full rewire, installation of lights, sockets,  new distribution panels, testing and inspections were carried out to ensure the highest levels of safety for all students.

Newcastle Roomzzz

Newcastle Roomzzz, part of the Roomzzz aparthotel brand, built a large extension of 61 bedrooms to it’s Grade II listed building in Newcastle city centre.
APS NW were instructed to create a fire alarm system, disabled alarms, disabled refuge and EVCS into the new build.
APS NW worked directly with the client to decide upon the best system to use. Upon identifying the client’s need for a full fault tolerant networked system covering both the old and new building, two Kentec Syncro 2 loop panels were installed, along with a repeater panel at the front entrance.
An extensive cause and effects program was installed to allow the phased evacuation of the buildings, and fully integrated into the building’s AOV/smoke vent system, creating a completely integrated fire safety system.
Full DDA/disabled access rooms were installed including vibrating pillow pads along with visual alarm devices (VADs) in each room.

Merseyside Police HQ

APS NW were subcontracted through ANB/ESD for the newly built Merseyside Police HQ.

As this was a newly built facility, a full electrical installation, distribution, boards and sub mains were required to be in place.
